About Big J's Bubba-Q
Big J's Bubba-Q is a restaurant in Arden, North Carolina. It is listed at 3722 Sweeten Creek Rd, Arden, NC 28704, which places it among the local businesses of Arden that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.
This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

We went for lunch today- best made to order fried chicken and homemade Mac and cheese Iβve probably ever had! The sliced brisket was amazing too, everything was very well seasoned!

βββββ Big J's Bubba-Q was a huge hit with our softball team and families! We were feeding about 30 people takeout, and everyone was raving about the food. The fried chicken was hands down some of the best we've ever hadβcrispy, juicy, and full of flavor. The ribs and brisket were tender and delicious, the pulled pork was outstanding, and the mac and cheese was rich and creamy. Even the coleslaw was amazing! Everything was fresh, flavorful, and there was something everyone loved. If you're feeding a large group or just looking for incredible barbecue, Big J's Bubba-Q is a must-visit. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in the area!

welcome back to an old school fried chicken shack. Youβll be welcomed in with a friendly smile from Bubba at the counter. Yes, Rockyβs is across the street - but if you havenβt been to Big Jβs Bubba-Q yet, GO! Be patient - but you wonβt be disappointed. And youβll be back for sure to try everything on the well-priced menu. A slower paced, made to order kitchen, that kicks out only 5-Star quality.

Called in an order for the fried chicken, based on the reviews I read. They told me 45 minutes. I gave them 50. I still had to wait another 30+ minutes, but you know what? I would wait 2 plus hours for this food. It's that good. The other reviews (and mine) are not hyperbole. I've had fried chicken at some of the best places in the country: Gus's in Memphis, Willie Mae's in New Orelans, Prince's Hot Chicken in Nasheville, and more, and I think I would put Big J's Bubba-Q chicken in the top 5, especially when you put hot sauce on it. And the ribs are amazing too. Fall off the bone tender. I would highly recommend this place.

Got a hankerin' for fried chicken? We heard Big J's Bubba-Q was the place to go, and it did not disappoint. Don't just drive by because it looks like a hole in the wall place. We'll, it is a hole in the wall place, but the fried chicken was excellent!! I got the two-piece white, my wife got the two-piece dark. Our sides were mac-and-cheese, baked beans, fries, and fried okra. They must brine their chicken in some super secret recipe - chicken was super moist, even the breast. And the sides were excellent, especially the fried okra. Don't be in a hurry if you order on-site - fried chicken is made to order, and it took ours 30 minutes. But it was worth the wait. And the couple that helped us - I assume they were the owners - were the nicest people. Looking for a white-napkin dining experience? This is not your place. Looking for excellent food with a no-frills experience? This is your place. I look forward to returning and trying the BBQ, but it will be tough to NOT get the fried chicken again.
